labor day weekend!

Hey everyone hope you all had a great three day weekend! for me it was 4 days! YAY! I left thursday night and headed up to Dosiwallups where we camp every year for labor day. This is a tradtion my family has done since i was REALLY little and since then it has grown from a few of us to about 50!! It was bittersweet though, Logan had to work the whole weekend so Kason and i treked up there alone. He did join us late sunday night and all Monday! yay! that was great! overall it was a great weekend! we enjoyed being with eachother, playing games, snacking, taking walks, hiking, and of course swimming in the COLD water!

and an upclose shoton sunday we went on our annual hike. We did a loop about 3.5 miles and it was fun. we had 5 adults and 10 kids!Thats my dad with Steve and Andrew in the backgroundKason on my back in the wrapadam and brinnon! he totally loved the hike and enjoyed every minute of it!Andrew on our cousin Scotty's shoulders. Scott was a champ and carried andrew the WHOLE time!our view most of the hike-main reason why Logan and i love washington!looking upthe canopy was so thick that when it began to rain we didnt really get wet at alland Brinnon at the end of the Hike. He was so happy!and this is the waterfall. We go here every year when we go camping. its just minutes away from our site. Its beautiful and its ICE cold. Of course we went swiming! What's our annunal trip without swimming in the freezing water and going numb?someone had put a log under some big boulders and stuck it out into the main pool area which is about 8feet deep. so of course we used it as a diving board and jumped off! here i am.and there goes adam!and there goes Scott!and here is my dad going up the side while we swam... and a bit of matthew's head! oopsand the three of us! the only ones brave enough to go into the water (or shall i say dumb enough lol) the water fall is two parts. there is what we call the bathtub which up about 10 feet and the main part of the falls goes into it and its about 3 feet deep and about 5-6feet wide. its awesome. then there is the pool area where all the water goes down into before it goes down the river. and of course a naked baby shot with dannon! kason loved it and we really had a great time, and can't wait for next year!

a much needed DATE night!

hey everyone whats up?
Last night logan and i went out on a date, no Kason.
Seriously last time we did this was back in May.
And i counted lastnight, Kason has only been left with a sitter or family like 6 times maybe less.
its not that we dont trust anyone, or we dont want our alone time, its just Kason was easily portable. we could take him anywhere in his carseat and he would sleep through movies, dinner, etc. etc. but now he has out grown his seat and loves to talk, climb stairs, and play with anything he can get his hands on.
So it was nice to go out.
THANK YOU BROOKE!! my friend Brooke took kason for the night so we could do the typical dinner and a movie and it was AWESOME!
I got a giftcard from my Dad (thank you dad you are amazing) to go out and eat. We went to Olive Garden (my fav) and just had fun, no diets, no kiddo, just us.
I had my all time favorite there, The 5cheese ziti alforno. I get it with Alfredo sauce instead of the red stuff. the pic above is the chicken alfredo which is not what i had but still yummy. Logan had the never ending pasta bowl and has a few different ones and loved it. of course we had lots of BREADSTICKS!

We then headed over to the Capital Mall and went to the movies. We wanted to see The Dark knight but we ended up staying too long at the resteruant and missed it, and the only thing on was THE ROCKER and i wasn't too excited. But we went ahead and got tickets and watched it, and i gotta tell you it was WAY WAY better than i thought it was going to be. It was so funny and just good ol non thinking movie to laugh at. and i really liked the music in it. I told logan i wanted the soundtrack and he agreed! so im sure that will be on our shopping list sooner or later.
The best part was that Kason was perfect for brooke, no crying, ate all his food, played well with her daughet and went to bed with no crying! yay Kason!
So we are going to make this a regular thing and switch off and on with Brooke and Rob and watch Breanna for watching Kason and then do it again!

We have had some nice weather and i have taken Kason swimming ALOT. he loves it. We have gone to the Lake a few times as well as the pool. At the pool i have let him "swim" all by himself. Its the whole "natural swimming" thing. Babies are natural swimmers so i have been reading about letting them swim and they all say just let the baby go and they will bob down in the water and then float back up within seconds. So i tried the first time FULL of nerves and he did great and liked it. Since then we have done it a few times and he still does great and loves it. He kicks and tries to blow bubbles as well :)

We went to the zoo the other day. My friend Brooke came with us with her little Girl Breanna and the little guy she watches (Zach) we all had fun and Kason loved the playground they have at the zoo in Tacoma. our "train" of kiddos. Yeah we looked great! it was funny and kinda rude at the same time. We were walking back to the cars when some guy who passed muttered "do you think you have enough" i wanted to say NOPE I WANT 10 MORE! some people goodness! lolKason chillin in the stroller! He is getting SO big! Kason is 100% boy. Where ever we go he will always find a stick, bark, grass or a leaf to play with!He loves to climb the stairs so it was no surprise when he was all over this "rock" at the playground at the zoo. up and down and all around it!and of course a mommy and kason shot! i love it! so us.
So next week Kason turns 11 months... WHOA! he is getting so big!!!
things he does now-
-He was just weighed on Monday and he is 21lbs 14oz!!
-He moved up to a Toddler car seat!!
-Eats table food only now and loves it
-Mostly drinks from sippy cups-bottles only during the night
-crawls EVERYWHERE and fast!
-moved up into a size 4 shoe
-still a size 3 diaper
-wears 6-9 month clothes
-loves to talk
-has three teeth
-getting 7 teeth as we speak (yeah its been great...)
-pulls up on everything
-walks all around with his push toy

im sure there is more but thats what you get now! lol :)

oh also... im doing the biggest loser again with my mom and sister. Its in the middle of week two and i have lost 8lbs! yay go me!
i am also doing the couch to 5k program and lovin it. its a program to get you running a 5k in 9 weeks.. starts nice and slow switching from running to walking and then progressivly slows does more running each week.

First Hair Cut!!

Kason finally got his first hair cut! It was long, in his eyes and over his ears. He needed it bad. So i finally did it.
I wanted to give him his first hair cut, i know silly but i wanted to. so i did. We went over to my mom's so she could help me. It was hard because he kept moving all around and everything but i did get it done and it turned out pretty good. It looks way better now that is has already grown out a big and not so even. lol i know that sound weird but to me it looked like a took a ruler and cut across his forehead. lolI love this picture. I look nervous as can be and Kason looks scared like "GRANDMA DON'T LET HER!"All done! see not too bad! and it opens up his big beautiful eyes!
i will never give him another haircut though i will go get it done at a kid place! lol

seriously?

seriously is this really summer? i dont know about where you are but here its rainy and in the 60's. this is Kason and myself yesterday morning. yup thats right, us in hoodies and warm thick clothes. UG what happened to shorts, capris, and short sleve shirts? i really hope this isn't going to be like this the rest of the summer. We had a cold June and most of July hot hot hot and now August, the hottest month for us and we get this? come one people!

10 months!!!

Can you believe it? This kiddo is already 10MONTHS old today! yikes!! seriously were did the time go? only two more months until he is ONE YEAR OLD! so sad. I love how energetic he is, happy go lucky, go with the flow, loves to plull up on this and cruise the furniture, eats anything he can get in his mouth, loves table food and crawls around like a speed demon, but i do miss my tiny newborn with the newborn smell, the crossed eyes, the small little coes, always wanting to be held and cuddled, seems so long ago huh.

And this is Kason giving me a big ol' smile. He now has three bottom teeth and two top teeth that are going to pop through any minute now i swear.

anywho i have pictures at home i need to upload, Kason got his first hair cut! it was in his eyes and hanging WAY over his little ears. Also we went camping with my family. Unforuntantly logan had to work so it was just Kason and I. We had a blast and Kason loved to crawl around in the grass, eat pancakes and foil dinners and hang out and get attention! I didn't bring my camera yet again, but oh well.

my sweet sweet happy boy...

we have truely lucked out. Kason is the most happiest baby EVER! look at him!! Seriously he is awesome. He eats well, almost anything we give him (besides mashed peas!) is perfectly content playing by himself, loves to cuddle and give wide open mouth kisses, and one of the best things, SLEEPS perfectly. wether its naps or night time he will go right down in the playpen/crib and go to sleep without any fuss. Everytime Kason goes to sleep at my parents when im there late on Sunday nights my dad always comments on how well he goes to sleep, he can't believe it.
i love it
Logan and i both fear that since we lucked out so much with Kason that our next kid will be crazy, wild, insane, and pretty much a wild child that babysitters will fear and charge extra for! lol... hope not!

A while ago i bought Crayola kids washable paint to let Kason finger paint with. Lastnight i finally broke out the paint and paper and let him go to town. At first he was sure about it. His looks was like "Mom? this isn't food" i thought he would try to eat it, but he did really well! he started smearing it all around and loved to scrap his fingernails accross the paper-making lines. he even picked it up and tried to die his hair! lol it was pretty funny.Hmm... should i eat ????

Also i think that Kason is going to be a lefty. For a while not i have thought that, but with this painting his left hand totally took over. He got his right hand only dirty at the very begining, but painted with his left hand the right of the time. He also grabbs everything with his left WAY more than his right. who knows?

good morning!!

This morning is so beautiful outside, that it just is impossible to have a bad morning! lol.

I even forgot my purse at home and had to turn around on the way to work and get it, but i didnt mind!!

Anywho.. i got this shirt at Wal-mart a bit ago for Kason and its so stinkin cute i had to take a picture of it for you all to see.

His binky clip cut off part of it. It says "Frogs and Snails and puppy dog tails". I havn't heard this phrase that way. i always heard it this way- "snips and snails and puppy dog tails" but its still cute.

Also as i was taking pictures Ethan (the 5 year old i nanny) decided he wanted to read to Kason. He is such a great helper. He loves playing with Kason, reading to him, and even feeding him when im so busy and Kason is screaming his head off for another bite. I am really lucky to be able to watch Ethan!

boys best friend

so i have been wanting to post about this for a while, just really haven't gotten the right pictures, until yesterday afternoon.
This is a true story about a boy and his dog, Dannon.
Lol those two are so cute together!! Dannon usually does not like kids poking at her, and climbing all over her. She wont bite them or anything but she will usually give out a low growl. But with Kason she let's him climb all over her most of the time, or she just walks away. He loved to poke at her ears and try to eat her. Recently Dannon has discovered that Kason eats snacks, besides his baby food or fruit puffs (which she refuses to eat! lol).
Yesterday i gave Kason a bag of crackers, just to see what he would do with them. He loved the bag, and then discovered what was inside, FOOD! he loved crackers!! so of course away he goes at eating his cracker, then Dannon smells something, crawls out from beneath her comfy blankets and pillows and faithfully stands at his side, waiting for a fallen cracker.FOOD? as soon as this kid sees food he is all for it!
yumma!!! and Dannon is sniffing around for some on the floor.
OOPS!! one fell, and they both just stare at it.

Dannon. Poor Kason was so mad at her for taking the mushy baby drooled cracker. As you can see Dannon is all blurry in the back because she is running away fast!!

No worries, Kason did get more crackers!
On another note. Kason got in TWO teeth a few weeks ago, and i totally spaced on writing it on here. Finally my baby has some teeth. I didn't care whether he got them earlier or later than most kiddo's, but it has been hard finding foods he can mush with his gums. Kason loves table food and and chunky babyfood. none of that smooth stuff anymore. this kid loves to chew!!
and i love this picture because i was trying to get a shot of his teeth, but he wouldn't open up enough. but its still a super cute picture of Kason.

9 months?

Kason will be 9 months on Saturday... weird.
he got weighed and measured today.
19lbs 5oz (10lbs since birth!)
28inches (7.5inches since birth)
He is doing very well. right on track.
he is 25% for height 50% weight and 75% for head size (its logan's fault! lol)
we did find out though he has a double ear infection. weird. he hasn't been really fussy or anything.
his asthma is still ongoing. he gets his meds twice a day now. but she did say that he sounds alot better than usual. YAY!

thats how summer is suppose to be right? about time.
We have defiently been taking advantage of the weather.
Friday was beautiful. We had our friends Chris and Kelly and their daugher Allison over for BBQ and then we headed over to Long Lake to swim. When we got there the sun had gone behind the tree's and it was shady. the water was a bit cold, but not bad. Kason even went in. He loved it.
Saturday we had our 2nd annual fathers day bike ride. The boys had to do a bunch of things which included-mini golfing, counting prairie dogs, quading, and much more. It ended with a super yummy bacon burger dinner.
Sunday was beautiful. Logan and I went to the park with his side of the family for a picnic and to say goodbye to his dad and step mom for 4 months, they are going to San diego for work. Lucky Ducks.
Monday was also beautiful!
Tuesday was great. We went downtown to the fountain and Ethan went in and played and the babies and i watched. Kason liked crawling on the wet ground, but as soon as the water got him he gave us dirty looks! lol it was funny.
Then logan and I made fried rice and went to the lake again with Carrie and Brinnon. The sun was out almost the whole time this time and the water was a bit warmer. The kids both loved it. Brinnon's first time in a lake.
Tonight not too much planned, laundry at my moms. she has a nice cool downstairs in her house. yay!

hybrid fruits.. who knew???

I have heard of it before, mixing fruit together, but never really tried any myself. Well the other day while shopping at walmart for soup for Logan when he caught my flu bug, i wondered around the produce section looking for some fruit for Kason. I got this mesh thing to put chunks of food in, and he chews on it and gets all the flavor but doesn't choke! pretty cool i thought. so anywho while shopping i saw plums, well what i thought was plums until i noticed they weren't as dark and too red to be plums. the sign said Pluots. im like What? so i bought a few got home and googled it (gotta love google). A pluot is 3/4 plum 1/4 apricot. Pretty cool huh? they taste mighty yummy too, very strong flavor. There are also Plumcots- 1/2plum 1/2apricot.

well here is a picture i took of the pluot for you all to see. the inside is REALLY red!

i bought three, two that were darker red on the outside and one that was lighter. this was the lighter one. i noticed that the darker they are the more flavor they have.
my hungry boy waiting for mommy to give him his fruit! looks so bored there. loland there Kason is eating his first Pluot. YUMMY! he loved it alot. I also gave him Mango the other day and he LOVED it! counldn't refil his mesh thing fast enough.

okay seriously is this a joke? haha joke over now.

it is June 9th and its POURING RAIN outside and COLD!

what the heck??? that forecast is this week. JUNE 10-16th!!

This time last year i was huge and preggo and sweating like CRAZY! I was constantly making slushies, putting out the sprinkler for Ethan and the neighborhood kiddos. We were often going down to the water fountain in Olympia, and the babies where in just diapers all day long.

This time around- kason is in jeans and long sleeves. Addie is wearing thick pants and sweaters. Ethan went to school in a jacket. there is no need for slushies, sprinklers, or shorts.

My cute Capri's i bought when we had a week of beautiful weather a couple months back are folded up in my dresser begging to come out.

so if anyone with the special ability to change the weather, please make the NW SUNNY like it should be! thank you.
