who knew?

That which brand of dog food and what veggies and meat and grain that are in it could really effect your dog in a big way?
Well maybe you did, but i sure didn't. We have had Dannon for almost 2 years now and we have always given her Pedigree food for small breeds. My dad and mom have the same breed of dog and theirs loves it. so when we lived with them that's what Dannon ate and when we moved out, Thats what Dannon continued to eat. Then she started to get red on her tummy.. then it got worse.. then her skin got scaley and i wont go into details but ew.
We were stumped.
We washed her blankets thinking that maybe it was something on them.. that did nothing.
We gave her bathes regularly so we changed soaps thinking that was it.. nope
Then someone mentioned her food. That tons of dogs are alergic to corn in their food and almost ALL dog food have it. I didnt think too much of it until her skin got worse and then i googled skin problems with Rat Terriers and i got TONS of information.. Like did you know that my dog will live to be 18+ years? Kason will be in highschool if she lives this long! holy cow!
anywho it told us that Rat terriers have skin issues alot and that it can be caused by her food. it also mentioned that the dog can eat and eat and eat the food for months or years and then one day become alergic! seriously!? oi!
So I scouted out the stores and its really REALLY hard to find food without corn in it.. really hard!
Then i thought i got some and got it home, went to open it and saw that in the grain section of ingredients it said "CORN" SERIOUSLY! i just bought a SMALL bag for almost 15 bucks! yeah this stuff is PRICEY! so the poor pup is still on her regular food until we can find good stuff.. then this morning i looked up petsmart and found this:Its made for Terrier breeds. It has NO CORN and its all natural. Then i realized that this stuff maybe perfect but how much? its only 10 bucks! its not a big bag, but its better than anything i have found yet.. and the reviews said that its worked wonders and their dogs have been great since getting on the food.
lets hope!

25 random things...

I was tagged on Facebook to write 25 random things about myself.. i figured i would post it on here rather than facebook because well i am still new with facebook and this is familiar and easy! lol
bare with me here...

1. i LOVE carbs! If i could i would eat pasta, bread, potatos etc all day long! also if they were healthy for me i would! :) lol

2. I love doing anthing with my hands: painting, carving, drawing, etc. etc. I love to be creative

3. I am addicted to THE SIMS2 game

4. I hate housework. sweeping, laundry, cleaning anything ... HATE

5. I am the world's best procrastinator. Im really bad at putting things off

6. I love salt. Ask anyone that knows me, i love it. My brother claims that one year for Christmas he is going to get me a salt lick.. ew

7. I love the fact that my birthday falls in the same month as my mom, sister, nephew, and two nieces.

8. I love family gatherings, even though the crowded house, all the kids, and all the noise may drive me nuts i still love it.

9. I like to watch kid shows.. yeah lame i know but i really like Icarly! lol (i dont watch them unless kids are with me i swear lol)

10. I like to read. I have read the Harry Potter series, Twilight series, and many more. I hated reading when i was younger though.

11. I have kept a journal since i was 12 and write in it regularly.

12. im in love with my sewing machine.

13. I usually only will eat my spaghetti with out spaghetti sauce, just butter and garlic salt :)

14. I can curl my tounge into a W shape. When i was younger my brother Josh told me i wasnt cool and couldnt hang out with him unless i could do that.. so i spent HOURS and prolly DAYS trying to curl my toung over and over again until FINALLY i did it! lol he still thought i was lame though...

15. I think Peanut is hillarious and i cry everytime i watch him. seriously YOUTUBE jeff dunham and Peanut you will die laughing.

16. I would love to travel the world.

17. I love to wear logan's pj pants and one of his t-shirts.. so comfy! lol

18. I love being a mommy. Kason is such a wonderful child and when the time is right and we are in the right place we will have more kids so Kason is not an only child! :)

19. I am estatic that Logan's new job has benefits right away.. we despreatly need health insurence!

20. i LOVE shoes :)

21. I miss Utah. I never thought i would but i do. I dont want to live there again, but visit for sure. There were so many things Logan and I did there that we dont do here, or that here doesnt have like Dollar Theaters, Training Table etc. etc.

22. I hate calling people. I am always a nervous wreck when calling.. i know totally LAMO but still.. i hate it.. even calling family lol

23. Some of my favorite movies are disney or pixar movies.

24. I love sour candy. If it didnt give me sores in my mouth i would eat it all day long.

25. I love Ikea. I could stay there for 4+ hours just looking around.. oh hey I HAVE! lol Logan watched Kason one time and i went alone and i got a call 4 hours into shopping asking if i was close to home.. whoops! i lost track of time :)

as promised

So for the past week or so both my camera's had dead batteries. Yeah seriously.. im that lame. I would pick one up to take a picture of Kason doing something priceless then i would realize that the battery was dead.. and then would i charge it... NO! I FINALLY charged them this morning! I'm lucky that i did because i caught Kason doing the following:What you see here is Kason pulling up on the gate, while standing on his quad... he's a sneaky one i tell you.. sneaky!
whoops he was caught and realized it...
Now he is trying to figure out how he can continue without getting his trouble..
He never made it over, but he was close.. only a matter of time.. seriously as stated before he is a MONKEY.. speaking of monkey's.. i found a website to make a cute sock monkey.. and while at Target the other day found a fun pair of socks on sale for .99cents! cant beat that right?
Here is the stripy jailbird monkey! lol Kason loves him already and totes him around everywhere.see im not lying!
Kason has also learned a new "trick"... He can open our door!! He has been trying for about a week or so, and now he figured out how to get up on his tip toes and push with one arm on the shoe rack to give him just that much needed height to grab the handle and pull!!Thats some major arm stretching!Check out the toe action going on here, thats strength!!He see's freedom!
And out he goes!! unless he has shoes on he wont go off our front porch area.. but 99.9% of the time the door is locked so there is no worries at all about our child escaping..

Yeah you would think that i would have but i didn't.
On Friday we went to Charlies Safari with Clara and Derek and the kids and let the kids go wild while we chatted. Its been FOREVER since we have seen each other, so it was really nice catching up. Clara has pictures on her blog if you wanna see.. there is a cute one of Kason pushing Addie away while she was hugging him lol.. Kason had a great time running around and climbing, but the little man is getting molars still and was a bit of a crankster.
Saturday we slept in! it was great and we lounged for a bit around the house and watched Open Season 2.. its cute. We then got stuff ready and had friends over to eat dinner and play games! it was so much fun to hang out, im loving the fact that logan has weekend's off! We also had Brinnon and Samantha while Adam and Carrie went to the temple and ate dinner... we had three 2yr olds, 1 one yrd old, and one 5month old.. needless to say the kids ran around and played hard and had fun and ate candy!
Sunday we went to church and then over to Logan's bro's house for the super bowl.. unfourntantly Rodney ended up working late and got there for like the last 5 minutes :( it was a blast still and we loved hanging out the Danelle and the kids.
I love weekends like these.. they are awesome.

Anywho.. Kason has been very talkie lately.. usually gibberish, but we respond and encourage him to keep talking.. he does say a few words though

LaLa= Laura (yeah its sad he knows me name and calls me that WAY MORE then mama)
Dnannon= Started saying Dannon the other day he skips the first a though and adds an N)
PaPa= We call grandpa PAPA and he started it lastnight!!!
gma= Grandma.. we are close to actually saying grandma
hi or hiya= hi or hi ya.. he says it ALL THE TIME
eiei= Eieio from old mcdonald.. he skips the o
okay= Okay he says this really clear and says it all the time
He has also repeated words for us, but then wont do it again.. he will sometimes say: noodles, cracker, daddy, love you, and amen.
he loves to say prayers and knows that when he is in his chair at the table and we come over with food he folds his arms and waits :) so cute.. and at the end of the prayer he will either say YAY and clap or say amen.. lol :)

Then & Now

I was going through my pictures of 2008 the other day.. just looking for something to scrap book with and then I realized that Kason will be 16months old on Wednesday (yesterday) and thought it would be fun to compare to pictures from when he was 4 months old and at 16months old, a year later!Kason at 4 months old.. doesnt he look thrilled?Kason yesterday eating noodles... or covering himself with noodles...

Portland Temple

While we were in Portland we went to the Temple there, twice. Once at night, Saturday, and the wind was whipping so bad and it gave such a chill to the bone that we made it 15 feet from the car, looked at each other, and turned around. It was getting dark anyways so we made the choice to come back on Monday, knowing it was closed, but hoping to get a few pictures from outside the fence.. it was BEAUTIFUL on Monday, no clouds sunny skies! It was like that most of the weekend, we really lucked out. So we stood outside the fence and took a few pictures.It was hard to get a good angle on it... its so tall and we were really close.. The reflection pond/water feature they have.. 3.5 years ago Logan and I stood there newly married!The sun was perfectly aligned so that one side was all sunny and then the other half in the shadowsLogan waiting for me in the car with Kason...The sign as you drive up to the templeI love this picture.. the lighting was perfect! its the tops of the fence that goes around the temple.
It was really nice to see the temple again and walk a little bit around it.. It was really nice to have Kason there i know he doesnt get it, but thats were our family started.

Seriously?

We thought we got everything taken care of that would encourage Kason to climb on things that are not to be climbed up on.. yeah we were wrong.. apparently a quad is fun to climb on instead of riding... he was sure proud of himself though lol

So this weekend we went out to Logan's mom's place and went quadding. it was TONS of fun and it was nice to go out there since it has been FOREVER since we have.
Friday night we met Logan out at Steamboat Island and grabbed subway and then we switched cars and he took Kason to Shelton to see Grandma Fitzgerald.. She has been in the nursing home but gets to go home soon yay! :) Its been a long road since November when she went into the hospital.
I went to go see a movie with a bunch of people from church along with my mom and her friend. It was a lot of fun. We saw Bride wars.. super funny you have to go see it.. defiantly a chick flick though Lol.
Anywho Saturday morning we all got up and went outside to explore while Logan put a new chain on his quad.Kason with Papa Larry and the horses. The black one is Geesha and the Brown one is TJ. He thought they were cool but didnt want to touch them lol.. they wanted to touch him though!The dogs loved Kason. This is Fergie. She loved to Come up to Kason and lick him and then laydown for a belly rubKason would ignore her and walk away lolKason loved Daddy's quad and wanted to ride it all day long! :) and press all the buttonsKason watched daddy tinker with the quad and the moment logan put down the screwdriver and walked into the house Kason picked it up and started doing what daddy was doing..wrong end there buddy :)
Then he noticed there was dirt on his hands.... he sat there picking it off for a little while it was cute :)This is Harley. He is the biggest goofy dog ever! we love him :)
Look you cant see me! lol It got SO cold on our ride that Gary let me use his face sheild thingy under my helmet. lol its sexy i know :)Logan and his quad. So proud!We're not cold.. no not at all.. IT WAS FREEZING!Logan and Gary ( a family friend) He is more like an uncle really :)

This was Kason before our ride.. all geared up! We didnt get anypictures but we use our moby type baby wrap to secure him to me and then helmet him up and away we go.. well we got ready before anyone else and ended up riding around the driveway and the house and Kason got cranky too fast and ended up going inside and taking a nap while a few of us took off for a ride. Good thing too because it got WAY to cold for us meaning it would have been torture for Kason.

Overall it was a great weekend and with Logan's new schedule we will be out there more often going riding!! Yay! And hopefully as the weather will get warmer soon so Kason can go out with us!

my new addiction

these are so much FUN to make! It only takes an hour or two but tons of fun! Have you seen those ugly dolls they sell? Well i always thought they were kinda cute.. and lately i have an obsession with cute little monsters.. so when i FINALLY busted out my new sewing machine logan gave me for Christmas.. These are the first things i made.. and i LOVE THEM!I love how this one turned out.. used my scraps. :) it also has a heart on its tushy :)This one is special.. Andrew picked out the monster, colors, spots, mouth, and eyes... he originally wanted it to be all yellow with yellow spots and yellow eyes.. (can you guess his favorite color?)This is the first one i made.. Its Kason's. He loves it and has slept with it for nap and bedtime lastnight and carries it around sometimes! :)They are made from felt and are stuffed with fluff! I made another one for my friend Brooke's daughter Breanna.. she loved it too :)Kason is funny. When he saw all three chillin by the machine he grabbed them all and walked around trying to hold three things with two hands.. pretty funny :) i plan on making more today.. running out of felt and need to make a trip to the store :) lol
