Kason at 2.5

i never really realized or even thought about how much a child can grow in just 6 months.. in the first six months of life a child can learn to smile, sit, crawl, roll over, laugh, hold things, hold a bottle, find their binky, play, etc. etc. so why does it amaze me everytime Kason grows in leaps and bounds? this post is pretty much for myself to remember Kason at this age, and i have to say so far one of my favorite stages. its tough, but he is absorbing so much each day, its an amazing thing to watch.
-Kason facts-
-He is a Ham. He loves attention and is really great at hamming it up for people and the camera
-He plays shy. He wont talk infront of people and sometimes hides behind Logan or myself. He usually does warm up after a bit.
-He is attached to his beloved bankit dar or in translation Star Blanket. This is not a baby blanket of his.. its a large blanket (bit enough for an adult to cover them selfs while watching tv etc.) it was given to me by a former boss's mother. Its snowmans on one side and stars on the other.. it was one random day MONTHS ago Kason asked for the Dar Bankit.. and since he is attached, doesnt sleep with out it and when he gets upset or over whelmed he needs the blanket.
-He recently has gotten into Thomas the Train and Mickey Mouse Play House
-Still like the wiggles, maybe a little less than before
-Will watch tv for about a 30 min. stretch...
-Has been into cuddling this past month.. this is not normal for Kason so i have been soaking it up... he has not really cuddled unless sick since 6 months.. seriously.
-Drinks from normal cups usually, sippy cups in cars or running about the house
-favorite animals are cows and bunnies.
-Rides one of the cows at our house
-Loves trains and cars and will play on his car carpet for quiet sometime.
-wears a 2t-3t clothes.. pants are ALWAYS long on the child.
-Potty trained, with a few pee accidents every once in a while and still trying on the pooping.
-Sleeps in a big bed.. he climbed out of his crib in Nov. 09 and since then has been in a big boy bed.. sometimes crawls into mommys and daddys bed.
-Figured out how to open baby locked doors (the ones with the covers you have to press on certian spots)
-He loves to try and figure things out.. always has, but more recently he will sit and take apart things and put them back together again.. with a very concentrated mood about him.. he is serious about it when he does it.
-talks in full sentences usually.. and about 50-60% of what he says strangers can understand.. usually.
-Doesnt say his L's, his V's are B's and sometimes R's come out funny
-He likes to say everything is Orange or Blue.
-understands what Big and Little is
-knows that two is more than one and always wants two of everything
-loves yogurt.. we will go through a large container of yogurt in less than a week.
-chocolate..he is a chocolate boy!-He is smart. He just watches you do something, and then he can do it too. always has been a watcher.
-likes to laugh and laughs at his own little jokes all the time.
-LOVES the bunnies at home, but absoulty adores Pepper (my moms rabbit)
-Loves to do things for mommy (helping with laundry, letting the dogs in and out, picking up stuff etc. etc.)
-Stubborn. the most stubborn child EVER
-loves to color, paint, anythign creative... i wonder where he gets that?
-When he wants me to do something and i dont do it, he will grab my hand and try to make my hand do it (like open something etc.)
-loves the water and loves to swim, he is a fish
-loves to go to nursery at church
-loves to plays with his cousins and friends
-likes to jump on the trampoline at my parents house
-whenever he see's the McDonalds symbol (the golden arches) he yells out CHICKEN mommy, that is what he eats there chicken nuggets, but seriously we do not go there often.. like maybe 1-2 times a month... crazy boy
-picks up on things quickly and remembers things pretty well.
-can through a royal trantrum when things are doing going his way
-when he is mad or frusterated he bites his blanket.
-has to sleep with his Mickey Mouse stuffy.

Over all Kason is a bright funny little man. He loves his Papa's and his MaMa's and adores his Daddy. He is amazing and i could never imgain our life with out him. I am glad that he surprised us when he did and that we had him when we did. He is one special amazing little boy and i cant wait to see what he does in life.

RS birthday dinner

on March 25th our ward celebrated the Birthday of the Relief Society. In our ward i am the Relief Society Acitivty Leader.. and i LOVE it! this was our second activity with me being the leader and it was a HUGE one! a big dinner with a program.. well i could never have done it with out all the help, so EVERYONE who helped THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! seriously THANKS!
our theme was pioneer sisters.. and since i had been staying at my moms, the theme was brought on from all her neat things around the house... and she let me use them for the dinner, so THANK YOU MOM!! everything turned out wonderful!

each table had a different mini quilt... i made 5 and they turned out so wonderful!the cake! i learned a good lesson though.. do not decorate a cake at midnight while watching "whos line is it anyways" good thing those swirls are to look unique.. i was laughing so hard...
yumfor the cup cake stand i used 3 wooden plates my mom had with a small vase for the bottom thing to hold up the next plate and then a small glass to hold up the top plate
each table had flowers on them in mason jars with fabric tied around
we took a rope and tied it from one side of the gym to the other and used clothes pins and hung up quilts like they were dryingi put the forks and spoons in enamle cup thingsmore of the quiltsi got the flowers at safeway for cheap!! yay!
Over all it was wonderful. We had soup and salad, with rolls. A short talk givin by Kelly, which was a great talk, and just hung out and visited.. it was a good night!

time for change

it was time for me to have some change... with our tax return we each took some money out for ourselves. i used all mine for a complete new wardrobe and i LOVE my new look.. it just needed one thing.. NEW HAIR!! i got my hair done last march by a wonderful friend of my sister in Puyallup.. she is amazing i tell you! i loved my hair, but i let it grow out and the color fade. Its been a year so i HAD to get something done with it...
so here is a before picture.. longer with the layers grown out.. i actually liked the longer layers... but the color was driving me nuts.. i wanted something DARKER and BOLDER...

BEFORE

AFTER! we went dark dark brown with blonde highlights and my fav. violet red pieces here adn there through out my hair.. I LOVE IT
i love that i went dark and i really wanted some splash of color but wanted it to still be church appropriate. next time i may do a little MORE color lol
but i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! thanks Tiffany!

bath tub paint!!

Kason LOVES to paint
Kason LOVES to take baths
so when i found this recipe
we had to try it. It was super easy and fun and Kason LOVED IT! my only complaint is that the paint stung his eyes when they accidently got in them.. also it was ALOT of soap.. i made 4 colors so that was 1cup of dish soap... all went down the bathtub drain... and that soap ment bubbles coming out of the toliet downstairs... whoops.. so the next night i made two colors... and i halfed the recipe.. it was the perfect ammount for just Kason...
next time we make it im going to use kids soap and see how that works instead of dish soap.
Here are pictures from our first try-
-sorry the pictures are in reverse order.. blogger hates me today-

-my revised recipe-
you will need a small container (muffin tins or small bowls)
1TBS cornstarch
1/8 cup dish soap
3 drops food coloring
1TBS water
step 1- put cornstarch in container
step 2- add soap and food coloring to cornstartch and mix until smooth
step 3- add water and mix
step 4- enjoy!
what i really LOVE about this recipe is that it DOES NOT STAIN (well im not sure about grout) and you just wipe the tub and walls clean and the shower looks brand new!!!
enjoy!

spring please come soon

last week we had BEAUTIFUL weather.. no rain, and around 60 degrees.. it was wonderful.. we were outside everyday, went to parks, had playdates, had friends over for a picnic, went to my brother's for a BBQ, went on walks... now this week.. its rainy and yucky and cold. i hate nice weather like last week around this time of year, ONLY because its a teaser.. spring is not here yet.... oh well it will come soon.
last friday i had two friends over and their kiddos.. we had a picnic and made crafts and played played played all afternoon. KASON LOVED IT!!!

i adore this pictureswing monkey swing!!
Kason loves the swings and now is on a big boy swing.. he doesnt go as fast so he still likes the littler swings that buckle, then he can go HIGH and FAST!
ill just stare at these pictures until spring comes! :)

our home

i know its only been a week.. well even less than a week, since we came to my parents to house sit, but i already miss a bit of the farm life. i know some people think im crazy for living out in the boonies with no TV and only dial up net and living so far from stores and such, but it really suits us and i love it alot. there are days i complain about the net or stuff like that, but i really do like it alot out there.
Kason too. He has really missed his animals.. talks about them alot.
i took these pictures about 2 weeks or so ago.. right before V-Day.

this is Penelope, my momma rabbit. My other one ran away back in Nov. and then i got this lovely girl
this is Sweet Pea. She is Penelopes daughter and she is so sweet and cute i love her. I got her back in Nov. too. This is Harley. He is the biggest, goofiest, silliest, doofesty, smartest dog ever. He is really. He plays stupid perfectly, but he is a smart dog. He gets what he wants when he acts stupid lol
I love his big brown eyes, they are so beautiful to me... makes me a sucker to give him my scrapshis big ol nose.he really is a beautiful dog
Doesnt she look Happy? This is Dutchess. She is the happiest, sweetest dog ever. Shes a lover. This is her smile face.
Our cats think their dogs.
we have 9 cats.
all but 3 are tame and will sit and beg for food right next to the dogs on the back porch...
it gets crowded.I cant wait for spring, and i think the trees agree. this tree is already flowered now after i took this pic!this is miss Molly. She was our first calf this year, back in early jan, and was premie. she is so tiny!! she is actually smaller than the newborn calf that was born on Feb. 16th. crazy!!
this is her protective momma Tanner. Yes she was mooing at me to get away from her baby.
this is the stare down.
they won
i walked awayThis is witchy.
enough said?
actually Witchy is super nice when she wants to be, just dont grab her baby...
my life flashed before my eyes that day
she is pretty though, and has huge horns.
This is Bess. My fav. isnt she cute?
i know your thinking DUDE SHE IS A COW
but she is a cute cowand the nicest cow you will ever meet.
This is the Cow that Kason rides.
seriously. we put him up on her back, help him balance and she walks around.
Who needs horses when you got Bess?
she her huge belly? She is pregnant, well she was in the pic.
She had her baby on MONDAY! im so excited, im going to train this baby! Its a boy and im super excited to train it to be nice like his momma!!This is Stinky. He has a white stripe down his back, hence the name Stinky.
Like his curls on his head? they are like messed up side burns or something!
this is witchy boy. She has 4 babes. Stinky and his sister MooMoo are identical. Then there is CoCo who is all black with a brown stripe, and then our newest (besides Bess') Bullseye is all black with a white spot on his, well his you know what :)
