First trip to the Dentist!!

Back in March right before Kason's 18 month mark he got to go to the dentist.
They are all saying that once kids get teeth that they need to be seen by a dentist.
So we took him on in.
He loved the waiting room! it had lots of leggos and books.
Then we go back there and when they are that little they have the parent sit in the chair, sideways so my feet on are the ground and then i had to place Kason on my lap facing me, and then lay him down.
My knees where against the dentists knee's and kason's head as on the dentists legs. I guess this is the best way to get him to sit still and the dentist can see in his mouth.
He said everything was good and Kason didn't even bite him! i was scared he would clamp down! lol
We did find out he has a fused tooth. Which is when two teeth are really one. Its kinda like a tree trunk and then it splits into two branches.
Nothing to worry about it will fall out like normal, and sometimes when they get their new teeth it will only grow back one and he will be missing one. something to worry about later. He got a ducky for being a good boy and a sticker.
He wouldn't let me brush his teeth for a few days after this.. lol

whoops

So i was making a 7 layer bean dip for dinner.
I layered my meat and beans and other things in my 8x8 glass pan and set it on the front burner that was OFF.
i then needed to heat something up on the BACK burner.
Well a few minutes later the contents in my 8x8 glass pan is bubbling!
i realized i had turned on the FRONT burner instead of the back one! i know my glass pan is not to be on a burner so i quickly grab it with hot pads and place it on some hot pads on the counter... then about 3 minutes later i was thinking "maybe i shouldn't have moved it..." then
BAM!
the glass cracks! and explodes the food EVERYWHERE!
yeah i had bean dip all over! and glass
Glass was everywhere too.
it was bad.
Good thing Kason was safe in his highchair far away from the mess.lesson learned: double check what burner im using!

do you ever feel like....

doing this?
This is Kason back in March. Pretty funny. This is not a regular thing.. every once in a while he will fall asleep and stay asleep while i clean him up, pick him up, carry him up stairs, and lay him in his crib. and then he will sleep for hours and its fantastic..
Today i feel like this.
I feel like taking a nap, well i actually feel like i should have just stayed in bed lol. im THAT tired. I cant stay awake and all i want to do is lay down and sleep. I fell asleep at 8:45 lastnight on the couch missing the end of NCIS (good thing its on the net) i then slept until 10 and watch with out a trace and then went up to bed and crashed until my alarm woke me up. i still feel like half of me is still up in bed! lol.
Lets hope for a nice nap from Kason. Usually he will sleep from 1:30 until 4-5 so thats nice.. lets hope for the 5!! :)

I was going to take his pictures but we were at my sister's during that week and i didn't bring my nice camera so i wanted to wait until we got home.. well the day before we were to leave my sisters Kason fell off of my sister's front step and hit his head against the cement.. poor kid.. got a NASTY bruise but other than that was totally fine. (freaked out and called the doctor and everything lol)

easter

So happy late Easter everyone!!
Hope you all had a great time.
we did.
Friday night we went out to Logans mom's house and spent the night and then on Saturday we helped around the kitchen then went quading.
It was wet, drizzling, and not too nice out, but we really wanted to go out. So we layered on the clothes, put kason in the wrap we have and off we went quading with Logan's brother Rodney.
We lasted only 45 minutes i think, Kason fell asleep after 10. It was just too cold and wet. Kason was so bundled up that he was hot. Good thing.
We did see two deer though, pretty close up too.
That night we dyed eggs. Kason plopped a few in, and drew on one with a white crayon, but mostly sat there fussing because he wanted to play in the dye.Kason actually ate a few hard boiled eggs ( we made 40 but only dyed 10)
On Sunday we went to Stake confrence for the Elma stake. Kason walked the halls and screamed for 2 hours. He hated it. He has a really bad cold, and teething so he just wanted to go home. I cant blame him.
Everyone came over and we had yummy food and talked and watched Marley and Me. Super cute movie. Sad.
We then had an easter egg hunt. There were ones that were super easy just on the floor and on a shelf then there were ones a bit harder for Gabby and Colby who are 3.5 and then there were ones super hard for Alec who is 10. (notice the water on kason's pants.. he found a cup of water and thought he needed a bath)
we only got a few pictures of him hunting for the eggs.. stupid lighting and flash.. it caught him after the cute moments.. oh well. But he would find the eggs and instead of putting them in his bucket/basket he would open them up and candy would go flying! lol... he loved it thoughHere is Alec falling as he jumped up to get an egg up high. After he got his loot (a ton of eggs) he sat down and began eating his candy. Kason has had candy before but not alot.. a peice here or there even on Halloween. So he was in high heaven sitting there having no one telling him no while he ate and ate and ate jelly beans, peeps, chocolate, etc. etc. etc. Here he found a peep and ate it while putting his foot up on his bucket.
Enjoying his 2nd peep... he loved itHe has such funny faces sometimes! lolI am in love with this picture and it will be printed and framed and put by his picture of his feet from his birthday.eating a jelly beansome eggs after opening them and taking out all the candy and putting it in his bucket.eggs and a half eaten peep.. i love easter
Our nephew Connor (not on my side on logan's) (yes we have 2 connors) is 11 months and will be 1 on the 21st of this month! time flys!! He loves crawling around and eating the eggs.I couldnt help my self from taking tons of pictures. the lighting was perfect and with the color of the hardwood floors.. i was in heaven!
i love his shaggy hair.. super cuteand last but not least.. his legs.. super cute baby legs...
as you can tell overall easter was wonderful and we had a great time!
now back to my house.. it needs some serious cleaning.. will post tomorrow with pictures from my stay up at my sister's house last week

homemade birthday presents

So this year Logan and I decided to save money we would give all our nieces and nephews something homemade. we have 17 of them!! so presents can get pricey for us.
I didnt take pictures of the first three i made.. im lame i know
But for Matthew who turned 10 i made him a pillow case with sports fabric and bright orange trim
For Maegan, who turned 7, i made a crayon roll... have you seen those? they are pretty cool... google it...
For Hannah, who turned 2, i made a soft fabric quiet book from a premade kit pretty much.. it was simple and she loves it.
And today for Jehron who turned 7 on Tuesday!! i made a notebook holder/pencil holder... its for church so he can have everything together and he can draw, write, color etc.
AND i actually TOOK pictures!! check them out...It ties on the side with red ribbon. It holds 12 crayola colored pencils and two pens (or pencils) Next time i will make the pocket part for the pencils deeper... they stay in there, but i think it would look nicer with deeper pockets.
There is a pocket for the back of the notebook to slide into to keep it in place so it doesn't fall out or anything.
I came up with this out of my head and im really proud of how it turned out! i hope he likes it! :)

quick fix

I bought a canvas tote last year to get books from the library with. Well today when i grabbed it before we ran out the door to go to toddler reading group.. i realized its boring.
plain boring tan canvas.
Well Kason went down for a nap and i fixed the problem. Before. You can pick this up at walmart for a few bucks. sturdy and ready to go..i used felt and some brown material.. i want to say polyester but not 100% on that one. Just some scraps i had lying around. Here i cut them out and placed them where i wanted them to go.. then i pinned them down. I then zig zag stitched all around the figures.. i did one tree at a time.. first the green part, then the trunk. all ready to go stuffed with books!!
its not perfect and i like it that way.. character.

Sew Easy!!

NOT THE BEST PICTURES I KNOWThis is my new potholder! and its SEW easy (forgive the pun) This would be perfect for someone that is new at sewing, a kid, or to use up scraps!!
I found it through www.howaboutorange.blogspot.com
here is the direct link to the instructions
i made mine a bit larger for a potholder since we dont use coasters. Also clearly i used red thread. Its one of the colors in our kitchen and it looks so cool with the white. I just used some of my scraps of white cotton fabric.
LOVE IT! took a few minutes and it was fun
this would look cool to do in different colored threads.. like three or four different colors..

busy bee

these last few weeks have been busy busy busy!
on my sisters blog she stated that march for her is march madness and not because of the basketball stuff going on.. its march madness because in just her family (hubby and kids) there are 4 birthdays in march. Maegan (the oldest girl), Matthew (the oldest), her's and Hannah's (the youngest) and barely missing the march madness is her hubby's birthday on April 1st. So we have attended 3 parties already, went out to dinner, and had a family dinner at my parents for our birthdays. That was all within a week of eachother.
That's busy busy.
PLUS (yes there is more) my birthday is this Friday and my moms is Monday!!! seriously BUSY! crazy busy!
So with making presents this year (I'm trying to save money and use my beloved sewing machine as much as possible) and going to all the parties and dinner's we have been on the go and so busy its insane... now that there is a break until Hannah's party i am really happy about it and getting some things done that i have wanted to work on for a while now.
First off here are some pictures of Kason and other things:Kason has totally gotten into "playing" video games. We had Andrew over a few weeks ago and we wanted to play the "yoshi" game on our super Nintendo and since then Kason likes to get out the remotes and play. Our new car! This is why we went to Canada. Its a 2005 Ford Taruas and its amazing. Its perfect condition and got it for a great deal from logan's step moms mom. lol i know that sounds crazy lolKason loves to put things on his head. That day he thought this bag would be perfect. He would walk around like this for abit or he would cover his entire face with the bag and walk into somethingthe weather has been totally crazy.. as my neighbor put it we have been having "bi-polar" weather. This day it was sunny sunny sunny and i was outside with no jacket and flipflops and was just fine. we even played outside for a while and Kason didnt get cold!! But then the next day it froze... just yesterday we had snow and ice and everything else.. its insane!!
Saturday the 7th was a busy day. Friday i was up at my sisters house helping with Maegan's friend party and we spent the night, then Saturday Logan came up with my dad and we all helped with Matthew's friend party. Then logan and i drove home, i had stuff to do that the church for activity day girls, then we drove out to logan's moms house. which is an hour away. We needed to pick up our other car to sell it, but it wasnt driveable (battery dead and we had no time to charge it) so we played for a minute and left to go back home and up to tukwilla! lol we were everywhere that day.
These are two of Logan's mom and step dads dogs. This is Harley and Fergie. They love playing together.Kason sitting on Papa's tractor. They even started it up and it was LOUD andkason just sat there with a happy smile on his face.Kason loves to kick his boots off and wiggle his toes and laugh and giggle about it.
We then went home driving through the snow and got ready and dropped Kason off at Brooke's house so we could go out kidless! thanks Brooke!! We met at my parents and Amy and Eric, Adam and Carrie (with samantha) and Logan and I drove up to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Amy and mine's birhtday. We met our cousin Scott there. the crazy kid drove his motorcycle!! IT WAS FREEZING OUTSIDE! We had alot of fun even though it took forever and we got home super late.. it was YUMMY food and great company.Amy and I eating our desert we got cause we were the birthday girlies!Amy and Eric outside the Cheesecake Factory. Logan and I outside the cheesecake factory
Kason knows how to get up on everything now.. this is what i found when i came in from the kitchenHe even knows how to get the mouse and move it around!!

Art is really important to me. Its something i have to do or else i would go insane. I have art journals that i have filled for a few years now with paint, textures, pictures, papers and quotes that mean something to me. I have filled 2 big books and now im 1/3 of the way done with my third book. Here are some pages in my latest journal that i love love love
I am totally inlove with my sewing machine and thought i would paint it. and sew on it of course. pretty much speaks for itselfLogan first holding Kason.the cover. Thats a mushroom stamp i made from clay and carving it then sealing it with some clear spray stuff.
This journal means alot to me, they all do. I wanted to leave something behind for my great great greate great grandchildren to read and know who i was besides just my normal journal.
I also painted my entertainment center. Our entertainment center is plain brown. It works to hold the tv but its boring. it was givin to us and we are super grateful for that. now it just needed something... yeah that looks good.. It matches the other stuff in our living room. I love it (yes thats american idol on the tv)
lds pictures i promise
this was kason this morning.. cranky cranky. He is teething and i dont blame him for being cranky! this poor kid is getting his top molars AND his I-teeth AND some on bottom! REALLY?! does he need to do it all at once!! poor kid is a mess half the time!this is a regular face Kason makes now.. with his lips like that its pretty funny!!
also another reason Kason has been so fussy (and eating like a 10year old) is because he grew over 1.5 inches since JANURARY 3rd!! yeah seriously!!! He didnt do grow that much in 6months! i guess he is catching up now.
well folks i think i drowned you in enough pictures for today!
