Kason at 2.5

i never really realized or even thought about how much a child can grow in just 6 months.. in the first six months of life a child can learn to smile, sit, crawl, roll over, laugh, hold things, hold a bottle, find their binky, play, etc. etc. so why does it amaze me everytime Kason grows in leaps and bounds? this post is pretty much for myself to remember Kason at this age, and i have to say so far one of my favorite stages. its tough, but he is absorbing so much each day, its an amazing thing to watch.
-Kason facts-
-He is a Ham. He loves attention and is really great at hamming it up for people and the camera
-He plays shy. He wont talk infront of people and sometimes hides behind Logan or myself. He usually does warm up after a bit.
-He is attached to his beloved bankit dar or in translation Star Blanket. This is not a baby blanket of his.. its a large blanket (bit enough for an adult to cover them selfs while watching tv etc.) it was given to me by a former boss's mother. Its snowmans on one side and stars on the other.. it was one random day MONTHS ago Kason asked for the Dar Bankit.. and since he is attached, doesnt sleep with out it and when he gets upset or over whelmed he needs the blanket.
-He recently has gotten into Thomas the Train and Mickey Mouse Play House
-Still like the wiggles, maybe a little less than before
-Will watch tv for about a 30 min. stretch...
-Has been into cuddling this past month.. this is not normal for Kason so i have been soaking it up... he has not really cuddled unless sick since 6 months.. seriously.
-Drinks from normal cups usually, sippy cups in cars or running about the house
-favorite animals are cows and bunnies.
-Rides one of the cows at our house
-Loves trains and cars and will play on his car carpet for quiet sometime.
-wears a 2t-3t clothes.. pants are ALWAYS long on the child.
-Potty trained, with a few pee accidents every once in a while and still trying on the pooping.
-Sleeps in a big bed.. he climbed out of his crib in Nov. 09 and since then has been in a big boy bed.. sometimes crawls into mommys and daddys bed.
-Figured out how to open baby locked doors (the ones with the covers you have to press on certian spots)
-He loves to try and figure things out.. always has, but more recently he will sit and take apart things and put them back together again.. with a very concentrated mood about him.. he is serious about it when he does it.
-talks in full sentences usually.. and about 50-60% of what he says strangers can understand.. usually.
-Doesnt say his L's, his V's are B's and sometimes R's come out funny
-He likes to say everything is Orange or Blue.
-understands what Big and Little is
-knows that two is more than one and always wants two of everything
-loves yogurt.. we will go through a large container of yogurt in less than a week.
-chocolate..he is a chocolate boy!-He is smart. He just watches you do something, and then he can do it too. always has been a watcher.
-likes to laugh and laughs at his own little jokes all the time.
-LOVES the bunnies at home, but absoulty adores Pepper (my moms rabbit)
-Loves to do things for mommy (helping with laundry, letting the dogs in and out, picking up stuff etc. etc.)
-Stubborn. the most stubborn child EVER
-loves to color, paint, anythign creative... i wonder where he gets that?
-When he wants me to do something and i dont do it, he will grab my hand and try to make my hand do it (like open something etc.)
-loves the water and loves to swim, he is a fish
-loves to go to nursery at church
-loves to plays with his cousins and friends
-likes to jump on the trampoline at my parents house
-whenever he see's the McDonalds symbol (the golden arches) he yells out CHICKEN mommy, that is what he eats there chicken nuggets, but seriously we do not go there often.. like maybe 1-2 times a month... crazy boy
-picks up on things quickly and remembers things pretty well.
-can through a royal trantrum when things are doing going his way
-when he is mad or frusterated he bites his blanket.
-has to sleep with his Mickey Mouse stuffy.

Over all Kason is a bright funny little man. He loves his Papa's and his MaMa's and adores his Daddy. He is amazing and i could never imgain our life with out him. I am glad that he surprised us when he did and that we had him when we did. He is one special amazing little boy and i cant wait to see what he does in life.

RS birthday dinner

on March 25th our ward celebrated the Birthday of the Relief Society. In our ward i am the Relief Society Acitivty Leader.. and i LOVE it! this was our second activity with me being the leader and it was a HUGE one! a big dinner with a program.. well i could never have done it with out all the help, so EVERYONE who helped THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! seriously THANKS!
our theme was pioneer sisters.. and since i had been staying at my moms, the theme was brought on from all her neat things around the house... and she let me use them for the dinner, so THANK YOU MOM!! everything turned out wonderful!

each table had a different mini quilt... i made 5 and they turned out so wonderful!the cake! i learned a good lesson though.. do not decorate a cake at midnight while watching "whos line is it anyways" good thing those swirls are to look unique.. i was laughing so hard...
yumfor the cup cake stand i used 3 wooden plates my mom had with a small vase for the bottom thing to hold up the next plate and then a small glass to hold up the top plate
each table had flowers on them in mason jars with fabric tied around
we took a rope and tied it from one side of the gym to the other and used clothes pins and hung up quilts like they were dryingi put the forks and spoons in enamle cup thingsmore of the quiltsi got the flowers at safeway for cheap!! yay!
Over all it was wonderful. We had soup and salad, with rolls. A short talk givin by Kelly, which was a great talk, and just hung out and visited.. it was a good night!

time for change

it was time for me to have some change... with our tax return we each took some money out for ourselves. i used all mine for a complete new wardrobe and i LOVE my new look.. it just needed one thing.. NEW HAIR!! i got my hair done last march by a wonderful friend of my sister in Puyallup.. she is amazing i tell you! i loved my hair, but i let it grow out and the color fade. Its been a year so i HAD to get something done with it...
so here is a before picture.. longer with the layers grown out.. i actually liked the longer layers... but the color was driving me nuts.. i wanted something DARKER and BOLDER...

BEFORE

AFTER! we went dark dark brown with blonde highlights and my fav. violet red pieces here adn there through out my hair.. I LOVE IT
i love that i went dark and i really wanted some splash of color but wanted it to still be church appropriate. next time i may do a little MORE color lol
but i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! thanks Tiffany!

bath tub paint!!

Kason LOVES to paint
Kason LOVES to take baths
so when i found this recipe
we had to try it. It was super easy and fun and Kason LOVED IT! my only complaint is that the paint stung his eyes when they accidently got in them.. also it was ALOT of soap.. i made 4 colors so that was 1cup of dish soap... all went down the bathtub drain... and that soap ment bubbles coming out of the toliet downstairs... whoops.. so the next night i made two colors... and i halfed the recipe.. it was the perfect ammount for just Kason...
next time we make it im going to use kids soap and see how that works instead of dish soap.
Here are pictures from our first try-
-sorry the pictures are in reverse order.. blogger hates me today-

-my revised recipe-
you will need a small container (muffin tins or small bowls)
1TBS cornstarch
1/8 cup dish soap
3 drops food coloring
1TBS water
step 1- put cornstarch in container
step 2- add soap and food coloring to cornstartch and mix until smooth
step 3- add water and mix
step 4- enjoy!
what i really LOVE about this recipe is that it DOES NOT STAIN (well im not sure about grout) and you just wipe the tub and walls clean and the shower looks brand new!!!
enjoy!

spring please come soon

last week we had BEAUTIFUL weather.. no rain, and around 60 degrees.. it was wonderful.. we were outside everyday, went to parks, had playdates, had friends over for a picnic, went to my brother's for a BBQ, went on walks... now this week.. its rainy and yucky and cold. i hate nice weather like last week around this time of year, ONLY because its a teaser.. spring is not here yet.... oh well it will come soon.
last friday i had two friends over and their kiddos.. we had a picnic and made crafts and played played played all afternoon. KASON LOVED IT!!!

i adore this pictureswing monkey swing!!
Kason loves the swings and now is on a big boy swing.. he doesnt go as fast so he still likes the littler swings that buckle, then he can go HIGH and FAST!
ill just stare at these pictures until spring comes! :)

our home

i know its only been a week.. well even less than a week, since we came to my parents to house sit, but i already miss a bit of the farm life. i know some people think im crazy for living out in the boonies with no TV and only dial up net and living so far from stores and such, but it really suits us and i love it alot. there are days i complain about the net or stuff like that, but i really do like it alot out there.
Kason too. He has really missed his animals.. talks about them alot.
i took these pictures about 2 weeks or so ago.. right before V-Day.

this is Penelope, my momma rabbit. My other one ran away back in Nov. and then i got this lovely girl
this is Sweet Pea. She is Penelopes daughter and she is so sweet and cute i love her. I got her back in Nov. too. This is Harley. He is the biggest, goofiest, silliest, doofesty, smartest dog ever. He is really. He plays stupid perfectly, but he is a smart dog. He gets what he wants when he acts stupid lol
I love his big brown eyes, they are so beautiful to me... makes me a sucker to give him my scrapshis big ol nose.he really is a beautiful dog
Doesnt she look Happy? This is Dutchess. She is the happiest, sweetest dog ever. Shes a lover. This is her smile face.
Our cats think their dogs.
we have 9 cats.
all but 3 are tame and will sit and beg for food right next to the dogs on the back porch...
it gets crowded.I cant wait for spring, and i think the trees agree. this tree is already flowered now after i took this pic!this is miss Molly. She was our first calf this year, back in early jan, and was premie. she is so tiny!! she is actually smaller than the newborn calf that was born on Feb. 16th. crazy!!
this is her protective momma Tanner. Yes she was mooing at me to get away from her baby.
this is the stare down.
they won
i walked awayThis is witchy.
enough said?
actually Witchy is super nice when she wants to be, just dont grab her baby...
my life flashed before my eyes that day
she is pretty though, and has huge horns.
This is Bess. My fav. isnt she cute?
i know your thinking DUDE SHE IS A COW
but she is a cute cowand the nicest cow you will ever meet.
This is the Cow that Kason rides.
seriously. we put him up on her back, help him balance and she walks around.
Who needs horses when you got Bess?
she her huge belly? She is pregnant, well she was in the pic.
She had her baby on MONDAY! im so excited, im going to train this baby! Its a boy and im super excited to train it to be nice like his momma!!This is Stinky. He has a white stripe down his back, hence the name Stinky.
Like his curls on his head? they are like messed up side burns or something!
this is witchy boy. She has 4 babes. Stinky and his sister MooMoo are identical. Then there is CoCo who is all black with a brown stripe, and then our newest (besides Bess') Bullseye is all black with a white spot on his, well his you know what :)
well thats it for all the farm pics.
hope you enjoyed seeing our cow family!
and Bunnies
and Dogs and cats!

we did it!

I dont want to be over confident but i think we did it! i think Kason is pretty much potty trained, he still has an accident here or there, and we are trying hard on the poopies... but he stays dry ALL NIGHT LONG and ALL NAP LONG!
Way to go Kason!
________________
On another note.. we went to the Dr. on Monday for Kason, he was complaining of ear pain and it was yucky looking.. for those who dont know kason got tubes in his ears nov. 2008 so its been over a year and only with one infection!
well the tubes finally came out within the last three weeks (the dr. checked them 3 weeks ago and they were fine then) and he already has an infection in the right ear! dang it! so i made an apt. with the ENT dr. again and see if he needs another surgery.. we will see.

Not alot else going on. I need to get my bootie in gear and pack tonight. Kason, Dannon, and myself are going to my parents for over a MONTH to housesit while they play Oldies in AZ and snowbird it with my grandparents... i hope they have a great time... while i enjoy the following i have missed for the past 8+ months

-eat whatever i want too
-DVR
-fenced in yard for Kason and dannon

{patience

I think Heavenly Father blessed us with Kason to teach me patience.
My Mom use to tell me that I was born without patience because I was born in a Hallway and couldnt wait the extra few minutes to the delivery room.
sorry mom.
I guess all kids are here to teach us patience.
Can I say lesson learned and now Kason can be not so.. trying?
It was worth a shot.
Kason is a good kid, don't get me wrong.
But he is a BUSY kid.. always has been since he started to roll over, at 2 WEEKS! That was a sign and I should have prepared better lol.
Kason is also STUBBORN! i mean extreamly... and it doesn't help him that both his parents are very stubborn as well.. poor child.. no hope in that department...
So when Kason gets it in his mind to do or want something... there is no stopping him with out a fight.
Lastnight he fell asleep in the car on the way home from Shelton (about 25 minutes) and usually we can take him right inside and put him to bed... well not lastnight. He was wide awake and insisted on staying awake for what seemed FOREVER! we laid with him for just over 2 HOURS! and he finally fell asleep, as well as my self. He wasnt screaming or anything the whole time, just laying there...
I HATE just sitting somewhere and doing nothing, or in last nights case laying, its boring. i dont like boring.
so I came to the conclusion Kason is here to teach me patience. It's okay though because i know that one day he will have a kid that will teach him patience.. payback...Heavenly Father has a funny sense of humor sometimes i think.. :)
______________________________
On another note...
We are back into potty training..and this time im not going to speak too soon. iv'e learned my lesson.
We went out and bought a potty for him.. somethign i didnt really want to do, all the cleaning and stuff ew.. BUT since i have started to watch my sister-in-laws kids a few hours a week Kason has become very interested in their little kid potty.. and im tired of diapers.. and my child stripping all the time to pee in the potty.. so we jumped back in.. bought stickers for a chart and a potty.. i let him pick his potty out.. i gave him a choice of two potties... one very basic and plain that can convert to the big potty and become a step stool also.. and the other one is super basic too, its green and has a frog face and feet... he stood there in the potty isle at wally world for like 5 minutes checking out both potties and even sitting on them FINALLY he picked the frog.
As soon as we got home he carried inside the house and showed it to everyone that was home.. he was SO proud of his new potty..and he has been doing good... only one accident yesterday during lunch time, and he sat on the potty alot by himself to go, and 2 times he forgot to take the undies off.. oops.. at least he was trying.. and the stickers are a huge sucess here too. i got him car stickers and HE LOVES them.. so lets hope for the best and this is it..? maybe.. im stickin to it this time to quitting.
anywho.. well not much else going on here.. so ill let you all go now :)

open mouth-insert foot

why is it that i always speak too soon?
The day after my last post Kason peed his pants a million times, and everyday since then. Over the weekend we put him in diapers... i know once you switch to undies you shouldnt go back, but the weekend was insane and i couldnt change his clothes 500 times.
i dont get it.. he was perfect the first day, which is usually the hardest, and then just didnt care the rest... he played in the wet pants and everything didnt bother him one bit!
i wish we never got that stupid swine flu, yes im being whiny in this post, sorry

on to better news... one of the cows out here, Tanner, had her calf yesterday, we think its a boy, havn't gotten too close, but he is super cute with brownish fur adn a white face with an L on it! lol too cute.. he is super tiny though... we hope he will be okay.
anywho well not much else going on here. its quiet, Kason is out like a light so im enjoying the peace. House is clean so thats nice too.. i think ill relax, soak it all in, and crochet with out a little helper!

Potty Time-Round two

Back towards the end of October we got the swine flu, Kason and I. He was done with the pee part of potty training and was close on the poopy part... then we got that stupid flu and all went away..
Kason was so sick he just laid down and did nothing.
it was sad to see.
We tried to pick it back up when we got better, but then he got sick again, and then we went to the great wolf lodge with Amy and her family and Adam and i didnt want to have him wanting to use the potty all day then so i said id start after thanksgiving, well time flew by on a jet and here we are after the new year.
This morning (tuesday morning) i gave Kason the option to use undies or diapers. he chose undies with excitment and put them on... he used the potty like a champ and had one accident about an hour into it, a poopy. he went the rest of the day perfectly fine, no accidents! he even walked into the bathroom once and pulled down his pants and said he needed to go!! everytime he takes his pants of he checks to see if he is dry and then yells "DRY MOMMY" and smiles big!
so cute!! we even drove to town and went shopping and came home with no accidents at all!! he did have another poopy before bed... so if we work on the poop i think we got it!!
im glad he is easy with transition things like this.. the bottle he never missed it and the binky was good to go in a day. we lucked out with this one.
tonight before bed i braved it and gave him the option of diapers or undies and he chose undies and i explained all about no peepeeing in the bed.. we will see.. everything is washable so im not worried about it or anything.
anywho thought id update... christmas pictures coming soon with updates on that :)

November AND December in a nutshell

November and December have pretty much flew by on us so fast!!!
These last few months have been crazy and Kason has grown up so much and so quick!!
-NOVEMBER-
November was great.. the weather started to get colder and actually less wet!!
I made a schedule for Kason and I for the day.. i felt like our days were slipping by and we were getting nothing done whatsoever... so we started structering our days and it worked wonderfully!
We have a time for everything yet its still flexible to do other stuff and run late etc.
But we have been working on our colors, shapes, etc. etc. and he is soaking everything up and loves to ask what everything is now.. like colors.. he loves circles and will paint circles all the time.
Kason started spouting off sentences in the middle of November.. he has always talked well for us... and we was started to put a couple words together here and there, but then one day it was like BAM and he started chattering away in sentences we can mostly understand! his first sentence was "Mommy i made a mess, Need a towel" and he actually did need a towel! lol had hot chocolate on the kitchen chair! the other day he announced that "Cows eat grass"... it was so random!
Thanksgiving was great. We spent it with Logan's Moms side this year... tons of family, yummy food, and games.. it was alot of fun and it was nice to see everyone together.
Shortly after Thanksgiving the weather went to freezing!! i mean we got down to 6 degrees a few nights in a row! INSANE! and then during the day never got over 22! Our pipes froze one morning for over 5 hours!! I was changing out our rabbits water twice a day to keep it from freezing SOLID! the fish pond here was so thick of ice i could stand on it!
-DECEMBER-
KASON IS NOW IN A BIG BOY BED! crazy!! when did my little baby boy get so big?!? we bought an awesome toddler bed almost a year ago because Kason was climbing up on EVERYTHING and we feared his crib was next... well he never climbed out until now... he woke us up one morning by just standing by our bed staring.. it was weird lol...
he lped me take down the crib and put it away and put up his new bed.. he LOVES the bed and stays in it at night and naps!! he sleeps great, even better now.. so it was not as bad as we though it would be!
We got snow in the start of December sometime.. it was just about .5in but still it was snow and not just ICE which was all we were having.. it was fun. We took Kason out (thankfully his snowsuit from last year barely fits) and he played and played in the snow and loved sliding down the slide that was snow covered.. and watching all the cows in the snow..
We have been working on art alot here and Kason has made a few ornaments for himself to put on the tree, pictures with paint, playdough and much more.. he is loving all the art time and is now asking to paint first thing in the morning!!
We are spending Christmas Eve and Day with my family this year... we hear Santa maybe stopping by my Grandma and Grandpa's on Christmas Eve!! i hope he does so Kason can say hi! He loves Santa and talks about him and knows he assocatied with Christmas...
Sunday we are to give a talk at church on Goals and Resolutions.. im not excited lol. i really dont like giving talks.. but oh well. :) im hoping for the best..
well i think i hit the basics on our livesi n the last few months and hopefully i will get WAY better at blogging!!
HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

Happy belated Halloween!!

I love halloween
i get that from my Dad
He LOVES halloween.
This year i really wanted to make Kason's costume, so i did! He loves COWS so what should he be for halloween? A COW!!
thats exactly what he was too. And he loved it. He is actually wearing it right now too... showing it off for my grandparents.
Isnt he the cutest cow ever?!?!
